Contraindications

Before proceeding with the tenSkin Laser treatment, it is crucial to review the following contraindications to ensure your safety and the effectiveness of the procedure:

    • Light induced seizures or Epilepsy (please check with your neurologist if you are uncertain.)

    • Active skin infections (including non-healed cold sores) or active inflammatory skin conditions (rash, eczema, psoriasis) on the treatment area

    • Vitiligo on the treatment area

    • A current diagnosis or history of skin cancer on the treatment area (medical clearance by your provider is required to receive treatment)

    • A current sunburn or wind burn on the treatment area

    • Systemic therapy with gold (injection-based, intravenous, or oral)

    • Are pregnant and/or nursing

    • Neurotoxins (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin etc.) or fillers:  You must wait one week after treatment 

    • Fake tan and tanning booth: You must wait 4 weeks after application or until the fake tan has completely faded 

    • Laser hair removal: You must wait 1 week after treatment 

    • Laser treatments, chemical peels, dermaplaning, microneedling: You must wait 2 weeks after treatment 

    • Photodynamic therapy: You must wait 2 weeks after treatment  

    • Removal of moles, milia or skin tags on the treatment area: You must wait 2 weeks after treatment 

    • PDO Threads: You must wait one month after treatment

    • Photosensitizing Medications including Doxycycline, Minocycline, Tetracyclines, Sulfonamide, 5-fluorouracil: You must wait one week after completion 

    • Oral Retinoids (Isotretinoin, Accutane etc.): You must wait six months after completion

    • If you're currently under a doctor's care or have been prescribed any new medications, as any change to your health status or the start of any new medication may influence the treatment results. A medical expert should review your health status to ensure the tenSkin Laser treatment is safe and suitable for you.

    • You have had an invasive/ablative treatment such as Fraxel, CO2 laser, in the previous  month  

    • You have been diagnosed with skin cancer 

    • You are pregnant and/or breastfeeding  

    • You suffer from a collagen disorder (ie. Lupus)
